We were at Mustang little league game last night outside of Chicago and heard some amazing use of sports quotes from the coach of the “Yankees.” The kids responded to the quotes and came back to win their game 5-4. Amazing how a well placed sports quote can inspire a group of kids to work together and finish strong. Nice job ‘South Chicago’ Yankees.
Here is one of the quotes (when the team was losing 3-1) that the coach used to inspire his team:
“You owe it to yourself to be the best you can possibly be — in baseball and in life.”
The coach went on to explain that each pitch, of each inning was a chance for all of them to be their best. He challenged the kids to go out there and be their best. In the end, they did.
Btw, the quote is from Pete Rose and it turns out that the coach was raised in Cincinnati.
