Kids Set Goals for 2010

Monday, January 4th, 2010

A lot of players and Champions Club members wrote us about their goals for 2010. Successful teams, leaders, and players have long used goals to get them to their vision of the future. As two sport superstar Bo Jackson once said, “Set your goals high and don’t stop until you get there.”

There are a lot of components to successfully completing a big goal, including planning, practicing, visioning, positive attitude, hard work, resiliency and team work. Here are some of the goals for 2010 that were sent in to us.

Joseph (Team Dino, age 6) — learning to surf on his family vacation in Hawaii

Abigail (Our Team, age 9) — beat her Dad in H-O-R-S-E before next Thanksgiving

Lily (Lily’s Lions, age 10) — make her Jr. High School dance team next Fall

Greg (Giants, age 12) — read all of the Harry Potter books

Alex (SmashMouth, Age 14) — save $3,000 from caddying and yard work for car savings fund

Picks for Week #10 from The Determinators

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009
Alex, the 8 year-old-owner of the 7-2 Determinators (Campbell Football League), has offered up his thoughts on players who should put in good performances during Week 10 of the NFL Fantasy Football Season. Do you agree or disagree? Let us know.
  • Drew Brees (NO vs. St. Louis)… Brees vs. the Rams defense?? Yes!
  • Percy Harvin (MN vs. Detroit)… He’s playing Detroit. That says it all.
  • Joe Flacco (Bal vs. Cleveland)… He has been good, 300 yard games, and plays Cleveland.
  • RBs… any of these: Chris Johnson (Ten vs. Buf), Adrian Peterson (MN vs. Detroit), or MJD (Jac vs. NYJ)… All of these guys should have big weeks based on who they are playing.
  • Defense? Try Baltimore vs. Cleveland and Brady Quinn. Or Maybe New Orleans vs. The Rams.

Team Caillou: Week 9 ‘Team of the Week’

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

While many of us know Caillou as a little tyke on PBS Sprout, it is also the name of a fierce fantasy football team. So strong that Team Caillou of Open League 133 won Team of the Week during Week 9 of the NFL Fantasy Football Season. In addition to receiving a winners certificate, Team Caillou takes home a college savings prize.

Team Caillou is owned by a stay-at-home mom of two. Her favorite NFL player is Dallas Clark, and her two kids have been Peyton Manning fans since birth. While she is married to a fellow Purdue Boilermaker, her husband is a huge Donovan McNabb/Philadelphia Eagles supporter. Their first date was an Indian Pacers game when the team was a threat in the Eastern Conference.

She loves to eat pizza with the family, makes sure to watch Dancing with the Stars each week, and is loving her first season of

Team Caillou supporters also happen to be big Indianapolis Colts fans. Both clubs seem destined to go deep into the playoffs.
