We do everything we can to protect the privacy of our users and to make FamilyFantasySports.com a safe place for families to spend time and have fun.

This privacy policy is designed to answer your questions regarding our policies and principles with respect to users and children under the age of 13.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects the personal information of children under the age of 13. This applies to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. The Act and Rule also cover other types of information—for example, hobbies, interests and information collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms—when they are tied to individually identifiable information. It is important for you to understand this law; we encourage you to read more about COPPA.

What types of personal information do we collect about children?
We do not ask for any personal information beyond what is reasonably necessary for you and your child to participate in FamilyFantasySports.com.

There is a lot to do on our website that does not require the submission of personally identifiable information. Generally we limit the information we collect to information such as first names, fictional team names, and on screen usernames.

Children can surf FamilyFantasySports.com and view its content without any personal information being collected. We do not collect personal information from children unless they register to participate in a fantasy league or contest. The only information we collect from children during our registration process is a first name, e-mail address, parent's/guardians e-mail address, a username, password, and team name. We may collect birth dates from children in order to validate age and eligibility for contests, sweepstakes, prizes and other activities. We will use parent/guardian's email address to send emails regarding child’s participation in various parts of our site. We will never collect any other personally identifiable information from children other than the information parameters listed above. On some pages of our site, such as where children can invite their friends to join a league, we also may ask your child to provide information (e.g., friend's first name and e-mail address).

Note that all sites that are directed to children under 13 are prohibited by law from conditioning a child’s participation in an online activity on the child’s providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.

How do we use and share the personally identifiable information that we have collected about children?
We use this information only for our internal purposes to enable children to enter one of our leagues or contests, to send electronic league invitations to their friends, to otherwise participate in one of the activities on our site, or to respond to an e-mail message they have sent to us.

We use information about others to enable the child to communicate with them or, in the case of the parent's e-mail address, to obtain your consent for participation in our activities (e.g., the parent’s consent for their child’s participation in a fantasy league or contest). We may also use information to enable parents and children to learn of additional service opportunities. Features such as sending e-mail, posting on league message boards, and other similar activities may result in the disclosure of a children’s personal information to third parties.

If you or your child is selected as the winner in one of our contests or promotions, we will notify you at the email address and/or phone number submitted by you and your child. We will only collect the full name, mailing address and other personally identifiable information from you, the parent, and not from your child.

In addition, we may share a child's personal information with third parties to the extent reasonably necessary to: protect the security of integrity of our sites; to take precautions against liability; to respond to judicial process; or to the extent permitted under provisions of law, to provide information to law enforcement agencies or for an investigation related to public safety
