Arizona and Maryland Families Win College
Savings Awards Playing Fantasy Football
A 14-year-old Arizona Cardinals fan and an 8-year-old Washington Redskins fan win the first two ‘Team of the Week’ Awards and take home 529 savings plans contributions
Cincinnati, OH – With monster performances by NFL stars such as Drew Brees and Chris Johnson, a 14-year-old in Arizona and an 8-year-old playing with his Dad in Maryland took home ‘Team of the Week’ honors during the first two weeks of the 2009 NFL Fantasy Football Season at Family Fantasy Sports.
The weekly award goes to the team that scores the highest number of points among all of the teams competing at FamilyFantasySports.com. In addition to being recognized on the site and the weekly Family Fantasy Sports Radio Show on Blog Talk Radio, each weekly winner is awarded a $100 contribution to their 529 college savings plan.
Team Jonah of Arizona won the honor and prize during Week 1. Jonah, the team owner is a huge Larry Fitzergerald fan, but in an interview on the radio show explained that a healthy Breaston and Boldin are a must for Cardinal success. Jonah has played multiple seasons of fantasy football, loves to play basketball, and is hoping to make his school team this year.
The Bethesda Bombers, owned and managed by a Dad-Son duo in Maryland, won ‘Team of the Week’ for the second week of the season. The 8-year-old co-owner of the team is a diehard Redskins fan, loves to play soccer, and eats pizza and hot dogs whenever he gets the chance.

Family Fantasy Sports will award over $40,000 for college savings during the 2009 NFL Season and all teams registered before October 1, 2009 are eligible. “With site features such as the history of NFL teams and cities, as well as weekly ‘by the numbers’ reports that explain the math behind fantasy football, it made sense for us to support families in their higher education aspirations,” stated David Miller, CEO of Family Fantasy Sports.
